Hooper you know I'm baiting you, after 5 years I have just opened a partnership program and it is doing well for both the affiliates and myself

Not sure the real reson is no programming talent as much as less fraud and other reasons

"but that any idiot with 10 pictures, a shared server, and NO EXPERIENCE can suddenly have an affiliate program. "
That I can agree with and understand as a negative thing

p.s. http://www.boardse.com/ great concept, good execution

Hooper I am over the whole revshare open to the public thing. There was a huge rash of them when Epoch started it. It is not that they are easy to program they open up, but rather it is CHEAP to start a rev share program.

A program paying out per signup is expensive to start...

On this note, http://ambucks.com will be opening an invite only PPS program within a month.

Hooper, I have a '98 Vette, has 6,000 miles on it. It is a very fun car to drive, but as you said impracticle... Luckily for me I have my practicle Suburban to get around in.

Oh yeah! Partnerships. let me add that to my list of things that suck for the porn industry!

Too much free content, too many webmasters, more experienced surfers, credit card processing problems, free hosts.

AND .. partnerships!

I'm guilty of at least one of these!

Pretty run of the mill vette actually. 99 Crimson Coupe... i love it & it's fun to beat the crap out of cars that are twice it's price... but despite how much fun this photo ( http://www.chevrolet.com/corvette/images/gallery/gallery_major05.jpg ) makes driving a vette in bad conditions seem.. it's just not a very practical everyday car.

I want a range rover :-)

I didn't come to piss Vick... but the fact is despite revshare's great benefits etc... it is far too often used because it doesn't require any program talent....

I am NOT saying that revshare is bad when used properly (e.g. ambucks seems like a good match b/c mike knows amateurs really well or in nick's case where nobody in their right mind would trust him to do a persignup or perclick deal) but that any idiot with 10 pictures, a shared server, and NO EXPERIENCE can suddenly have an affiliate program.

Why does that bother me? Actually i guess it doesn't... I'll run my programs as i see fit... i'm just in a bad mood.

I would think that people like Diamond Jim & Mike would be more upset by the "trickle down" effects of partnership programs.

Why? Ask webfather.

The 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham was not only the product of unrestrained Harley Earl styling, but it was also the most luxurious car in 1957: A virtual palace on wheels. Only 400 were built, and that probably accomodated the total amount of people that could afford it! To put it all in perspective, a brand-new, top-of-the-line Chevrolet cost $3,000 at the most in '57. Comparatively, a brand-new Caddie cost as much as $7,000. But that was nothing compared to the Eldorado Brougham, which came with a then-astronomical price tag of $13,000! Adjusted for inflation, that would be about $75,000 in today's dollars.

Like the Eldorados Seville and Biarritz, the Brougham also received special power treatments: its engine was the standard 365 cid, but it came with the dual-quad (two four-barrel carburetors) package! It also had a larger, free-flow intake mainfold. Add it all up, and you had the most powerful Cadillac engine yet, at 325 bhp! In 1958, however, the compression ratio was boosted from 10-1 to 10.25-1, and instead of dual quads, the Brougham engines came with a three two-barrel set instead. These changes helped produce 335 bhp.

The '57 Eldo Brougham, which hardly changed in 1958, was the first-ever completely pillarless hardtop: there was no post between the doors on either side. Therefore, in order for the doors to latch on to something, they were arranged in a suicide door style. Another styling/engineering first was the brushed stainless steel roof.

PlayAction Football, the one with the filmstrips, was pretty shithot, too.

Anyone else have a GhostGun? You put little paper strips into the gun that had ghosts and goblins printed on them, it projected them on a wall, and when you aimed you'd see a dot that moved with the handle of the gun. "Shooting" punched a little hole in the paper, so it looked like you were shooting up ghosts on the wall. LOL

Wow, some of those toy posts really bring back memories. The toys in the 70's were so much cooler than the ones now. I had the Evil Kneivel motorcycle set, a few SST cars, Rock'em Sock'em Robots, Gnip Gnop (and its cousin Toss Across), Stretch Armstrong, and the kungfu grip GI Joe, too... were these the building blocks that put us on the path to adult entertainment as grownups??? Conspiracy??? LOL

Don't forget all the great Six Million Dollar Man stuff, remember looking through the back of his head through his bionic eye? LOL I had that, the lab that turned into a rocket ship with the interchangeable bionic parts for his legs and arms that you put in by rolling back the rubber skin that ended up tearing around the third time you rolled it back...

and does anyone else remember Micronauts? I had a frickin' huge box of that stuff, a million little figures (I remember begging to go to Kmart with mom or dad, just so I could see what new Micronauts figures were in), the helicopter that also rolled through water in the tub, the big Biotron walking robot, all the way up to that city they came out with at the tail end of the product line with the airtubes you could shoot the figures through.

But I'd kill right now for some of the Smashup Derby SST cars, the ones that flew into pieces when you crashed them into each other midair after a jump. We'd spend all afternoon trying to get it to work just like in the commercials, to time it so they'd crash at the midpoint in midair, just to get it to happen once. We thought we were the shit when it would actually work, jumping around, celebrating. LOL

Has anyone questioned the guy in the tabloid mailroom about the anthrax on his keyboard?

I think if I wanted to wipe out a building that would be the job I would take...you could infect everyone in one day.

It's okay, Torone, it was just a joke. :-) No continents were harmed in the writing of it. Actually, I meant there to be a continuation from the Serengeti to the Outback in there somewhere, in reference to Survivor (which I've never seen by the way), but somehow that didn't get translated from my tiny brain to my fingers.

No, wallabee are little kangaroos (well, they look like them anyway).

Sorry, Dravyk, try again. My mother-in-law can talk a blue streak.

Mikey, I LOVED Stretch Armstrong! It was my little sister's, though (my sister has been butch since birth). I once commandeered it and her Kung Fu grip GI Joe when she stole the fangs out of my Barnabas Collins game.

There is a beautiful news weekly (check it out, www.laweekly.com) which managed to find the right words.
__________
It is a well-known quality of happiness — and of health and of good fortune and of youth — to be better remembered in its absence than appreciated in its time. The shining sun, the roses you forgot to stop and smell, a car that runs, money in the bank, the glow of downy unlined adolescent skin, the thoughtless peace of mind enjoyed by a people for whom the roiling world is but a rumor — these are the things you notice when they are no longer yours to enjoy. You don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone, quoth the poet, and this is not merely true, it is continually true: Even the parking lot paved over paradise will look good to you once something worse is erected in its place.

Forest I think you mean "SST" - the cars with the ripcord in them!

Drav - I used to climb up on the roof of my parents house and shoot evil knievel off the roof into the neighbors yard! the bike and launcher are long destroyed, but I still have the bendy knievel figure - he survived!

I have to admit I'm a toy geek - keeps me young at heart! currently I've got over 44 of those "foot tall" GIJoes, several of them vintage - I also have the Johnny West figure I got when I was 5!

Wonder what I'll get this christmas

I had all the Evel Kneival motorcycles, the chopper, and even the dragster.

They do not make toys like they used to.
