Colin: My pa was a Ph.D mathmatician, so naturally math was what I had to rebel against during a critical period in my development as a human being. Thankfully, your article was incredibly articulate and written accessibly even to the math illiterates in the house. I recommend it highly to all concerned.

If the web is nuked in some kind of cataclysmic event and you and a handful of others survive, like Meni, then you could definately become a teacher and possibly establish some kind of new world order...

Has anyone else seen the latest issue of Penthouse Magazine?

Penthouse has a full page fisting pic. They even comment on the fact that the "fisting" was the model's idea.

Interesting to note in case anyone needs to defend an obscenity case anytime soon!!

I, of course, only noticed the picture while I was reading the articles. :)

Most webmasters are not idiots though .. at least not the ones that hang at Oprano.

While not everyone may have a strong math background, most likely a result of 15 years separation from school, everyone here is capable of going through the examples and plugging in a few numbers and trying it themselves.

It gives one an interesting feel.

I rarely find useful articles... most of them are so clearly sponsored that it sickens me.

I enjoyed your building an empire article a year or so ago... i recall that oz wrote a good one about why sponsors shave... other than that I can't really think of anything i've found to be useful.

While *I* like your Poisson article immensely I think most of the idiots who don't understanf very basic number theory would even bother to read it :-(

Sadly enough there is no "manual" on how to make money in this biz. Then again...

I know *some* secrets... but I'm making $$$ with them...why would i share?

Colin, one should check the author of any article. This is the starting point.

I personally do not read many of the articles, and I surely would not take the advice of someone who has a poor track record.

Why follow the advice of anyone but the most successful people in business. Otherwise one is following the same advice that has lead the author to failure. ( Unless of course the author, is pointing out the mistakes he made, and would change in the future - sometimes these are the best article - it is always better to learn mistakes that others have made).

Anyway it is just my 2 cents.

If you like the hardcore application of mathematics, I've rewritten the article on the Poisson Distribution on Building An Empire:

Interesting result:

"If you normally get 3 signups in 3600 hits sent per day, you are going to get 0 signups once every 20 days. This is not because there is anything wrong with your sponsor, it's just the way the distribution works. If you average 5 signups per day with a sponsor you will have a 0 signup day once every 5 months on average. They are rare, but they will happen."

Hey now,

I think overall Jesse jackson is a ok guy. I don't agree with all his postions he has taken over the years, but I do belive he has done good for some ppl in the country..

Talking to the taliban without being asked by the administration, hmm that's a tough one, better to be asked in this time of crisis:)

Hey all,

damm hot piss going on today, All I can say is if I was using some "Email ad" people out there, I would forsure want to pay them. one reason of course, is If they gave me the scoop up front, and they deliverd, I would owe them. Plus I would be worried, if they don't recieve there money, they can do some damage with those emails also:)

Some one say Bible quote?

""But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and ALL LIARS - their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death (Revelation 21:8)""

so pretty much all the readers of this board are to use the colloquial...fucked!

Anthony: Aspirations? Real movies? Perhaps you haven't noticed but Homegrown has more "real" movies than anyone else out there!

I gave aspirations a long time ago when they fired me from being head mop bucket boy at the peep show!

Now I am trying to get a job with Brad Shaw but he won't return my calls...

(...besides, after hanging with all the "Real Movie" people that I met while working on "Orgasmo", I can certainly say that I am way more content to play the Falstaff than the Prince any frikking day!)

I am ready for my close up, Serge...
