Having been (and still am to a degree) an ISP, I can tell you that preventing such a thing a) sounds a shitload easier than it is and b) opens up an enormous can of worms - when you undertake to police the actions of some users, the government has a tendency to make you undertake to police the actions of all. Trust me when I say that there wasn't an ISP on the planet that wouldn't have been happy to make Napster go away back in it's heyday, as the people who most directly paid the costs for it were the ISPs, and they paid dearly in bandwidth.

The webtv code doesn't even use links... it simply redirects all webtv traffic to settopsex.com... numbers vary... but if you're not depending on exit consoles for traffic, you will see between 1-5% of your traffic using a webtv box.

The dialer code is completely different from the webtv deal. We host the dialer banners for you... you get a piece of javascript that detects the surfers's language... then it displays an ad in their native language. Currently xxx-porns is popup free as well and will remain that way for some time.

It's a win-win situation on both products :-)))

OUR overall numbers have been better every month since we've started and SetTopSex still hovers at an average conversion of 1:90 from front page + or - 10 points in any given month....

Colin budlight and I made two tgp2 galleries. But after reading the reviews of others, realized they are far from ready to be accepted :( But will just keep remaking it until we get it right. IMHO this is the only way we are gonna get returns on the monies we have put out. I mean hell we as webmasters, webmistres's have paid alot of monies, for bandwidth, images and all other programs. The new people are the real hope. There are always places for somebody whose been around long enough to find free stuff... Even back in the "good old days" when the free stuff on the web was limited, Usenet was still a thriving market of copyright violations.

Forget "saving" the "educated" users -- the portion of them who actually want more than they can get free (20%? :-) will continue to join the occasional paysite, and will continue to make a few bucks for people who can understand how to sell them. The rest will continue to be parasitic and just contribute to driving up expenses and down bulk bandwidth prices. The real money is in the newbies... Let's get 'em while they're dumb.

Let's face it,

My concern is NEW surfers, the surfers who don't know where the free goodies are.

and that is the largest pool of NEW SALES at the pay sites.
