Mike, why do they only have $30 link on webmaster links.

Answer is simple. They have nothing to lose, a set-up like this requires no capital to get started. If they were to go with a $30 a trial payout, IMHO you would need atleast $750k in the bank in case the program blew up to 500+ sign-ups a day.

This is becoming a trend, people wanting to open webmaster programs with no balls ($). I have yet to see such a program succeed.

Like I have said in the past, IMHO Jenna and her company were not willing to invest capital to get the webmaster program off the ground, so they went with a "partnership" type program.

Almost like Club 100, wih no legs. They pay 100% first month, then 0% after that.

Why not offer trials for webmasters. We all know it would help conversions.

I've said many times, too many people in this business made some money and think they're Einstein. Some got back to me right away, some took a few days, some took a month. And one hasn't replied even after four emails and asking the person in charge face-to-face at the V-Bar party and him saying "I promise you, I'll get that to you immediately after the show." How much is that unfulfilled promise worth, and how does that represent the entire company?

You guys apparantly want to A) provide good service, and B) make money, which is evidenced by the fact that you replied right away to my adrate request and didn't make me jump through hoops. That goes a long way.

From a business stand point it is much smarter to deal with stupid webmasters and more profitable.

But that really is not the answer either. Just like magazine subscriptions, there are times when they get aggressive and have "Drives" where they pay for new customers. That is and has been happening in the adult biz.

There were always be those that have "Subscription drives" at certain points in time and also will have those that "Coast" for a while while they milk the cow a bit.

BOTH are VERY smart and knowing when to do it is key.

CE was simply outbid by another sponsor who was aggresively hitting the market. They will all take turns doing this in the coming years and I have no problem sending CE traffic in the future.

The "per active" stuff is only for "follow me Free", with free trials. I don't use that one, I use the program that has a paid trial.. (no per active stuff)

I get very, very little traffic. Only 19 hits so far this month, but still it got two signups ;-)

In fact, the page is a leftover page from the CE partner program I participated in back in 1998! I had already forgotten about it, but because I kept getting CE checks for it I decided to figure out where the stats pages were and I found out that there were new signups coming in still! I changed it to this program (from CEP) a while back because nearly all the new signups cancelled..

And I would not call myself a smart webmaster either! All smart webmasters run a webmaster board, and they do not send any traffic to CE, not even the 3 hits a day I send them! :-)

Perhaps the bigboys in the adult industry are waiting to do what the bigboys in the mainstream internet did, wait for the little guys to fail, and cherrypick from the ashes. let the littleguys take all the risks and if they crash and burn, the bigboys get everything for pennies on the dollar: IT, IP, Hardware, Software, Fiber, Staff, Customers, more. if the littleguys succeed, then the bigboys just duplicate or consolidate.

But I don't believe the same strategy works well in this industry because we're all selling a product that has been presold and marketed since the dawn of time, no need to (re)educate consumers, it all comes down to marketing, frontend and esp. backend, the consumer is already looking for our product and the littleguys can survive and thrive. it's all about how many zeros you need to make you smile...

But it's evident they are losing the "smart" webmasters in droves...hence why you only send them 7hits a day! ;)

For the record though, I only use CE for one page that I nearly forgot, but that gets search engine traffic for the keyword "cybererotica" and converted 1:9 so far this month (@ $40/signup).

You see today that it is useful to keep the old accounts alive though! :-))
