arikaames.com down the shitter **singing another one bites the dust**

just got an email...why anyone would ever bother promoting a solo girl site is beyond me...i guess solo girl sites do have good runs for a while, but they almost always end up in the shitter

It is with great regret and apprehension that I must inform you all that ArikaAmes.com must be shut down, by court order. On January 12th, 2006, I was ordered by a judge to shut the site down as soon as possible. When asked how long it would take to do this as painlessly and efficiently as possible, I suggested 30-45 days. I did explain to the court that it is not as easy as just pulling the site or join page down, but that each one of you needed to be contacted and allowed sufficient time to make any adjustments to your websites or networks. The court recognized my plea and allowed the time asked for to cease and desist operations involving ArikaAmes.com/Arika, Inc. and Twisted Data, LLC.

That being said, we are requesting that all of you please remove any links, content, or any other ad or marketing tools you may have used to promote ArikaAmes.com from your websites as soon as possible. Arika requested (through counsel) that any picture, video, or any other ad materials or content be removed from the internet as soon as possible, and I would be thankful if you all complied as soon as possible.

Although this may come as a shock to some of you, and it seems like an impossible event to have occur, it is what was requested and ordered and I do not see any way around it at this point. I want to personally thank each and every one of you for all of your kind and generous help throughout the last couple of years. Without all of you we never would have made it as far as we did and had all the good times and memories that you all were a part of.

By the end of this weekend (January 15th, 2006) i have no choice but to remove the join page and links to it. I will also be modifying the main pages of the site to advise any new visitors as well as existing members that the site will be closing. After the join page is removed from the site no more new joins will occur. Members will be notified as soon as possible that the site is closing as well. All payments and rebills will continue as normal until the last member is active.

Obscenity is not new news and since inception of adult obscenity via community standards has been an issue. I don’t see the urgency now unless the political tempo has changed that much. Maybe the issue of this teen site tugged too close to home. Even I have a hard time with the teen stuff and I won’t promote it.



Still, it makes me wonder because I operate BDSM sites and although they are not my sole source of income, I enjoy running them but not enough to go to jail over.



We talked about this before… what if a US company host or operates their adult business in another country? Are they still subject to these laws? What about an offshore company, say Interclimax – where anyone in the US can access their sites and content. How is Polly Ann special agent going to get a court order to serve them?



I just never really understood all this. I try real hard but there seems to be too many “what if’s” and bullshit. Then again don’t ask me what I think of the fucking Bush administration.

An e-mail went out to all affiliates at 3:22 am this morning. I did not authorize this e-mail nor was it what I asked for in court.
There was a court date for the divorce this past Thursday and the business, ArikaAmes.com, was up for discussion. I asked for 30-45 days for affiliates to pull their links. Nothing was court ordered to shut the site down or to do it on a certain date. It was an agreement between the parties involved. I did not authorize nor agree to pull the join pages down tomorrow. I was not under that impression whatsoever. I was going to send out an e-mail to all of you on Monday to let you know of the changes with the site, obviously that has already been done.

I want to thank all of you for all of your hard work in making ArikaAmes.com such a great success over the past two years. It has been a great experience working with everyone. I wish you all good luck and great success in your future.
