Default Are any other states doing this?

We all know that a yellow traffic light means to move your ass before it turns red.

Florida wants to enact a new law that if a cop catches you speeding up at a yellow it's a $120 ticket and 4 points on your license.

Any other states doing this already?

I'm not surprised as amber/yellow means prepare to stop, not gun it lol

in fact in many states the law is written that you must enter the intersection before it is red, but in others it says you must clear the intersection before it is red.

That's the law here in BC....we've been burned a couple of times with the cameras at the lights....damn cameras take pics of your vehicle BEFORE it enters the intersection (light is red) and then another when you are in the middle of it....we learned our lesson....well, at least at the lights with cameras :P

I think cameras would be more effective for FL than fines and points...cause if there's a cop around, who's going to chance it?

With covert cameras you'll learn the camera is there the first ticket you get (the pics we got we could clearly see where the pic was taken)...would you run the light at that particular corner again, cop around or not? Me thinks not.

Of course cameras cost $$....

I got caught speeding by a temporary speed camera, the picture quality was so good you could tell I needed a shave.

I went and bought this spray up there in BC that makes the license plate fuzzy on camera, it overexposes with too much light or some gimmick.

I was all excited about it till Nick told me it would do no good, as there were only 2 Gunmetal Gray Viper GTS ACR's in all of British Columbia.

I always get stopped by the Clubhouse near where you used to live , Anthony. You know the short cut over the hill?

Always!

Always a bullshit excuse and the third degree and they call for back up.

Mark said they were profiling me.

I don't go that route anymore lol

Oooh. Lookie. A "smartness" from Nick!!

"Yellow" means "caution." (Frequently mistaken for "floor it," though.)
In a lot of places, you have to be "more than halfway" through the intersection before the light turns red.

Many have discovered, however, that actually stopping on the yellow to avoid any possible camera action causes a marvelous crash as the asshole *behind* you who was in mid-flooring-it action slams into the rear end of your car. Hence, the driver has to do that rapid "glance in the rearview mirror, evaluate, guage when the light turned yellow, how big is the intersection, will he make it????" crap that really makes getting the frigging ticket seem like a good idea.

I approach intersections pumping my breaks, making those nice flashing lights say "don't count on me running the yellow, asshole behind me."

*smirk* too funny

I've heard everything from hairspray to mud....none of it works...not sure why, but apparently there's nothing you can do to get past those cameras.

~nods in agreement with JoesHO1~

I'm pretty sure it has been that way in Indiana for a long time.

As a general practice, I take yellow lights for what they mean. I'm always afraid that that some fool on a non-time delayed light will TBone my ass.

Funny enough I got pulled over by a cop in Miami last year for speeding up through a yellow light. Got a warning.
