Morgan is right about the people in Wal-Mart. When it was open 24hrs I would go in the middle of the night just so I wouldn't have to deal with the people. Just isles full of boxes..

Having one of those in my possession would just be TOO damn tempting. And I just know I'd get caught, lol.

Morgan, what you're hearing on the radio isn't what Nagin is telling us on the tv. He's encouraging people who live in the less-hit areas, like Algiers, to return. Even though there's no running water, no electricity, and no sewer. Thousands supposedly have already returned to Algiers. Other residents are returning as well, because he's been saying "come on back!" for days now. He even went to the Houston Astrodome and was telling the people there that they could start coming back. *Not* just the "essential" people. Everyone.

Today he changed his tune, though. Got back on tv and said no one else is allowed in, and that everyone who came back now has to evacuate because of Rita. There's already interviews on Yahoo news from Reuters and the AP from people who returned and who say they're not leaving again, that staying and riding out the storm (no matter how bad) will be easier than getting back into the city.

Nagin is saying it would just take 9 inches of rain and 3 feet of surge to overflow the levees again; army corps of engineers officials have *been* saying that no one should be allowed back until the levees are completely fixed. They say the levees are in serious need of repair and the temporary closures will NOT hold, even without a storm. They need to be fixed before they simply collapse again, a storm would just make it quicker.
