Okay, Im starting my program with 6 exclusive content sites. Alot of the photo sets and video can be used on more than one site.

How much content should each pay site have before it is ready to be launched?

IMHO an updating Java script saying:

"Currently updating the site with over 100,000 videos and 1.75 million never seen before pictures.

Log back in 48 hours.Your Credit card has been credited"

well this is an interesting topic to me as im also interested in starting my own paysite ( have a great idea - just not the resources to get the custom content needed done to get it going ) but i would also like to know what would be needed

from people ive talked too @ internext you could use filler content like pluginfeeds.com ( there may be other ones but thats all ive investigated so far ) to fill your members area for you

I start with 15 or 17 and update every 5 days.....
Huge quantity is not as important as a lot of people think. Quality is.

wow, one of actually 3 things we agree on...

quality and constant updates are more important than having every plugin available...

anyone who's seen our members areas know they aren't "megasites" but they have quality content and we update 5 days a week consistantly.

IF you use plugins, I'd recomend pluginfeeds.com because they update once per week with a new model

also, get yourself a PPV movie theater with AEBN. This will give you a valuable upsell (that members won't bitch about), extra income and extra filler content (filler content can help, but it shouldn't overpower your original content...so use it sparingly and creatively and in the case of AEBN, constantly fresh content)

Yeah, scarey, huh? I have some sites that I update every five days, and others four times a week.

I think that ultimately surfers join a site for something very specific. Could be a fetish. Could be easy navigation and load speed. Could just be the twinkle in a girl's eye. It doesn't take much. If you constantly supply whatever that is, you will retain his business. I don't upsell anything but my own content, so I have no real comments on plug ins, but I would agree that they should never get in the way of why the surfer whipped it out....his cc...in the first place. When people join a site, I think they feel they have paid for a decent product and upsells should be appropriate and very optional.

yeah
we've found that by keeping our sites very clean, our surfers are open to upsells and trust us that they are quality upsells...thus we can upsell to another site and not lose that person as a member, because they come to us for big tits (on our busty site) and will stick with that site for whatever they have...we're also working on a way to compensate affiliates on upsells...

I think consistency in updates is important too...if you tell your members you update every Friday, then you should update every Friday...if it's every other day, then make sure it's updated every other day...long time members will forgive the occasional lack of an update, but new members will be paranoid...I know having a problem with my Internet connection during InterNext caused the missing of a couple updates and members were worried we'd died or something...so, I added extra updates and they were fine with it.

Also, constant member contact is sometimes more important than amount of content as well. Our members know they can email us with a problem and we'll give them a timely reply. It's saved a lot of cancellations due to things like them switching an email address and not being able to retrieve a forgotten password to just simple hiccups that happen from time to time.

back to the topic at hand...
if it's a ssingle girl site, shoot a ton of extra conettn so there are still updates when/if she abandons ship...

Personality based sites are a tricky thing. I am about to launch a couple. I won't even go there unless I have at least four years in the can and will shoot until I have at least five. At that level, you are guaranteed a good ROI.

What a lot of folks forget is that this business is 24/7/365. So a reliable customer service telephone line is of supreme importance. I travel a lot, but I always make sure to find reliable internet access to maintain updates. Sometimes, the direction of travel is modified to accomodate this, but this is what makes travel possible.

Wow... some intellegent posts from Rhymer today... I am impressed.

My main upsell and filler content on my sites will be interclimax naturally because I am also part of them. Private cams shows and archives of my shows on there will be an easy sale and even requested by my members.

Sabby, lots of good points here ... I would also support the 'regular updates are better than bulk content', however you have to look at whether you have a trial, what your retention from the trial is etc.

If you have content that updates every day, you have to make sure that the customer who signed up *today* can see that you have updated X times this week ... with our celeb sites, we have an updates block on our front page of members that lists the last week of updates, and a 'more' page that catalogues every update we ever made.

I can't stress enough how important it is to present content creatively & to build 'time wasters' ... ie, turn a bunch of pics of yourself into jigsaws or, maybe with your style of site, a 'request' line ?

As for pin pointing exactly how many pics & vids ... you could justify a 'paysite' with less than 100 pics, if you presented them & priced it right. Pick up a magazine and count how many pics are in each 'spread' - its usually a 6 page spread, no more than 10 pics, and its about $5 - 7 for a magazine.

I've been working on breaking my members content into 'blocks' and converting it to ebooks -

http://www.purvette.com
1 ebook is made up of about 10 stories, the other 2 have about 15 articles in each.

Purve Models Australia has about 20 'centerfold' pics of varying sizes, 40 small pics of treasure trails and several pages made up of *survey results* ... so I guess my advice is that pretty much anything goes, you just have to market it and present it in a format punters are comfortable with.

With your content assets you've built over the years, you should have no trouble making good members areas :okthumb:

CJ makes a great point about time wasting. I kind of look at a website like a trip to Ikea. The greatest traffic managers I have ever seen. They guide you along, but allow you to explore and discover interesting little things in nooks and crannies. When you get half way through, you can rest and get a bite at their coffee shop and consider your purchases. As you get closer to the end of their "tour", there is lots of little things that you can fit in the space you have left in your trolley. The longer you stay, the more you spend. And when you get to the end....you can load up with tea lights which is the excuse you used for coming to Ikea in the first place...to save money. LOL.

The funny thing is that Ikea has trained a whole generation of people to think they are enjoying themselves spending money in their stores. Brilliant.

good point about timewasters

we took our games off the site thinking no one ever played them...well, we got a bunch of emails about it, so put them back up....the complaints came mainly from long time members who had seen most of our site and played the games between and after seeing the most recent updates...

We also have a huge list of all our updates dating back several months and always have the most recent updates in a table at the top of every main category page in the site

I've even listed plugin updates and members seem to appreciate that as well (I usually do that on a Friday update when I just finished a full set update for Thursday's update and want to wait until the Monday update to start a new full set and/or a new model)

we're also adding things like a Coming Soon page to give a sneak preview of coming updates...

yeha id agree on the outtakes part because as someone who is relatively new to adult ( a year or so ) and having seen a reality cash porn shoot at internext and seen the girls giggling and one farting on the other for fun .. things like that .. personal side to things made me feel more like it was less business that they were doing and more enjoyment and fun ... always good when the guard is let down aswell the surfer feels like he gets to know the actors that little bit more than the 0 faces

Hahaha Oh that reminds me of the cam show me and Angel Lee did for a guy once...

I fucked her in the ass with a turkey baster and I must have gotten some air up there cause about 10 minutes later she farted in my face really loud while I was licking her.

That was sooooooooo fucking funny, we both laughed so hard we had tears runing down our face.

They guy stayed for almost an hour after that and said it was the funniest private he had ever had and had been a member for 5 years. He changed his chat name to WindyLee every time he comes in Angel's room now, LOL.
