it also isn't all that far to hop a taxi to any number of decent places to eat, from cheap stuff to the best stuff... "downtown hollywood" has more than a couple of very reasonable places to eat, plus you can do things like pick up a case of water and such to make your stay much more economical.
If you are a lush, make sure to hit the open bar parties and tank up at those, then cruise between events.
