First of all, If your daughter got involved with Coco leaves she would probably become a hershy head rather than a crack head (or maybe she'd be coocoo for coco leaves). However, if you became a COCA farmer then your analogy might have some bearing
Each of us, including my kids, makes their own decisions, some that are bad, some that are good. I can only take my kids so far down the road, then it is their path that they decide on and I have no control of it and for the most part am not the cause of it.
So, if my kids did something I don't like would I feel bad, yes. Would I waste a lot of time blaming myself, no. Would I try to get them to change? Depends on the situation. If they wanted my help (which is waaaaay different than me thinking that they NEED my help) I would help in any way that I could, but just like any other person, they have to decide they want the help.
