all over the place really. If you avoid the larger cities like Louisville and Lexington you can get property for next to nothing. A sale that went down not too long I moved here was this;
Boy scout camp with several buildings;
a dinning hall
a house for the people that ran it
and a few bunkhouses
camping area
several of those places that have the brick grills
and a lake....... yeah a lake! with places to tie up pretty much anything that floats in shallow water like pontoon boats, row boats and canoes
this place was out in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by the most gorgeous woods like ever. if i remember correctly it sold for UNDER $200,000 at auction!!!!!!!!!
yes... it did indeed have electricity and plumbing too LOL
and where to buy would depend on the view you want... around here in the summer there is plenty of tress and very very small rolling hills, to the south and east of here are much denser woods and some pretty damned big hill (when I lived in oHIo we called them mountains, but they are really just tall, steep hills
