The (former?) President of South Africa didn't believe that HIV caused AIDS.

The current President of the United States believes that scientists with an opinion offensive to those who bankroll him are bureaucrats, and is rumored to think that God appointed him (Anton Scalia's mommy would be so proud).

If he lived in the United States and was a Christian, he'd be talking about niggers instead of (or in addition to) Jews; or clean him up nice he could appear regularly on the Lou Dobbs "Immigration Scare Du Jour" show appearing five nights a week on CNN.

And as far as the hostage situation goes - it was not a very nice thing to do.

Whether, on the grand scale of things, it was the equal of the U.S. operation of a puppet government in Teran for the 25 years previous is subject to discussion. It certainly pales in comparisson to providing Iran's enemy with chemical and biological weapons, or shooting down a civilian airliner.

Don't get me wrong - he's a fucking moron, just like any other bigot. Don't know if I think he's any more of a moron than Trent Lott and countless others, though.
