(Yeah I know part of this Trev suggested already, just going one step beyond that.)
Turn off your restore function in Control Panel, reboot your computer but go into SAFE MODE, THEN run all the antispyware stuff, then reboot normally, then it should be safe to put your restore function back on.
Three reboots, I know and a royal pain in the ass, but sometimes it takes those kind of steps to rid one of this stuff. It's insidious.
Btw, dunno if your roomie is a cop, but if he isn't he really should fuck around with a guys computer who has a gun.
