I doubt very much as you will do a shitload of image processing, 3d rendering, video editing or audio editing. So that leaves you with a surfing machine and for that a little Dell or something similar will do ya.

Yeah, something to surf and post with when on the road, basically. Also for a new project the ability to go into a business and "show them something on the web", ergo, the WiFi.
I took a look at the AlienWare, and while very slick and powerful, I have to agree with Grump, a bit heavier and a bit thicker than what I'm looking for.
