English actor Daniel Craig has been unveiled as the new James Bond, the film franchise's backers announced today.
Craig, 37, who starred in the 2004 gangster film Layer Cake, will replace Pierce Brosnan to become the sixth official Bond and the first blond actor to play the part. Craig had been the favourite to take the part from a list of contenders including Clive Owen, Jude Law, Hugh Jackman and former Bond Pierce Brosnan.

The ONLY person from that list that looks suave, sophisticated, and can still be a tough guy is Brosnan. That they were considering Jude Law scares the shit out of me. I can't imagine having a more pussified James Bond that having him be the lead!
