I like my truck. My '93 Lumina is 14X more comfortable than the 97 Cadillac we got rid of when we got the new Jeep.

I've driven everything from a 60 Cadillac (small aircraft carrier) and a 68 Coronet, down to a series of VW Beetles (oldest I owned was a '58, newest was a '73). When I was working in the city I liked having a small car for parking purposes, and nobody ever stole my Escort.

When I bought the Lumina this summer I gave serious thought to a Geo Metro. If the place I went to look at it (and the guy who was selling it) didn't remind me so damned much of the opening scenes of Cujo, OR if I'd known what gas prices would be doing over the past two months, I might have done it.

Well ... there was the Cujo thing, and the fact that I'm 20 years older and ... uh ... would you belive 5 or 10 pounds? ... heavier than I was the last time I drove something that small, and short trips are the exception rather than the rule most of the time when I drive.
