GoDaddy have never really worked well for me (unless the domain registrar was GoDaddy).
More and more domains seam to be going where they know they will get the most for them - thats usual the big place(s), where it will end up in auction.
So, if you have your eyes set on a specific domain, then check who is the current registrar, and then do a quick search if they have any exclusive deals with a specific backordering service or network... if its a killer domain you really want, then you can also backorder it at as many backordering services as possible to better your odds, however be prepared to bring your checkbook, if its a hot domain everyone wants
