Default Re: TGP Group Project Steps 1-4

5 Oprano points to Reighlynn for a job *very* well done! This will make it much easier for anyone who wants to join the TGP project while it is already in progress without having to weed through the various threads and risk either missing something entirely or getting something done out of order.

A comment: novices, treat this like a business. What Reighlynn just demonstrated is an organizational skill. All business people have them, but sometimes its difficult for those who work at home to take their own work as seriously as they would take an office job. Highlighting her thread and hitting "print selection" will give you a good piece of paper to have in front of you while you work. A paper that you can make notes on.

Speaking of notes: I can't hammer this enough. GET A GOOD NOTEBOOK. Keep ALL of your user names and passwords in it. Keep your important URLs in it. Do not rely on your favorites folders. I had the best, most organized little favorites folder you've ever seen...and you won't, in fact, ever see it and neither will I. It died with the harddrive. Now I have a new computer and a headache as I slowly try and rebuild my perfect little favorites list from stumbling around and memory.

Look at your desk. Is it covered with stickies? Fine, for a temporary note. Put the stickies on a page in the notebook. Not only will the stick better to paper, you can sit down with a cup of coffee periodically and transfer all the information into the notebook. (Yes, I follow my own advice on the notebook thing.)

I have two notebooks, matching black ones. One holds the daily to do lists and fast notes. The other is the neat and tidy list of...my life, actually.
