Hullo, my wittle newbie kids!

Good to see you're working together.

Now...in no particular order:

Counters - don't use them. They're a traffic leak. All hosts give you stats, use those. (Remember: any link on your page has to bring you either $$ or traffic. These say they're going to bring you traffic, but they won't. They'll just give your surfers a nice flashy hardcore thing to click on instead of your banners.) Counters went the way of the dinosaur.

Traffic trades: it's simple. You ask. You send a tgp (I'm assuming) a nice email - compliment their site, etc. - and ask if they'd like to exchange links. You tell them what page you want to trade links on. (Main page, submit page, etc.) As a courtesy, you can put their link up first. However, if you don't receive a response or if the answer is no, take the damned link down fast, as you've just created a traffic leak. Also, pay attention to where *your* link appears on their site. If they give you a bottom of their main page link, make sure you give them a bottom of *your* main page link. If you go to http://www.freeplelinks.com/ and see where I've set up "Freeple's People's" that's going to be a "top of the main page" link trade for people who give me a good placement on their sites. That's where their link will go. However, I will also be adding a "More Freeple's Peoples!" table at the bottom for tgps who put their link exchanges on the bottom. Basically, make it *fair.* (There's nothing at all insulting with being put at the bottom of someone's main page. Remember: you're new. You *won't* be sending a lot of traffic to these people yet, and they know it. Top spaces are reserved for the bigger tgps who can get them surfers.) If you get a link, send a nice "thank you" email. Remember - in this business, traffic and GOOD WILL are both important.

Always make sure that your nick is associated with good manners and most of all, professionalism.
