Default So what have I learned so far ?

Hi gang

Right then - since starting out on our TGP project I for one have learned a great deal. A lot of the 's I've picked up however have been in ICQ sessions with Sarettah, Trev and Morgan (I am extremely grateful to each of you guys BTW). One thing that struck me was that whilst I am getting the benefit of this sage advice, there is a strong possibility that other people reading this forum are missing out.

So I thought it would be helpful to everyone (and a good way of finding out how much info I have absorbed) by putting down some bullet points you guys can read - a kind of Reader's Digest learning programme if you like ! I plan to add more as I learn myself, but any n00bs reading would definitely do well to read the following as a starting point. Here goes (they are in no particular order BTW
  1. No traffic bleeds/leaks - this quite simply means not linking to people for the sake of it. An example of this on my page is the ICRA sybmol - whilst my text and the symbol shows that I am registered with the ICRA, I don't link to the ICRA directly because there is no need to. If I did this I would have created a "traffic bleed" - another avenue by which the surfer can leave my site. I don't want them to do this. If they are that interested in the ICRA, let them google it.
  2. Register with the ICRA - doing so shows that you take the protection of children seriously. Anybody of a legal nature visiting your site will know that you have done what you can to cover your ass. The ICRA will ask you to describe the content of your site when you register. Then they will send you some code to add to the html of each page of your website. The code sits in the background and is invisible to the surfer, but can be picked up by programs such as Cybersitter and so on and stops kids from looking at your site. No need to explain why this is a good thing.
  3. Text at the top of your page - search engines love this text. Give careful consideration to what you add to this section, and also how you are going to format it. My page isn't the prettiest - it has text in large fonts smack at the top of the page. This is by design however, I want the page to be spider food, not the next Mona Lisa.
  4. Keywords - when choosing your keywords, be sure that they reflect your sponsor as opposed to your content. People are going to type a phrase in the SE, "blowjobs" for example - if they then arrive at your page to find Asian anal sites advertised, they are going to then go elsewhere. Keywords should be "targeted".
Ok, that's all from me for now as I'm pushed for time, but I'll be back later to add some more points for everyone to chew over.

Later dudes
