If you had proper backups, you could in fact laugh at this... but I'm guessing from your mood you didn't think you'd need nightly backups for anything.

You mention "clients" so I suppose you're hosting people? If so, from here on out, institute nightly backups to a separate server, and position your DNS so that when something like this happens, you can quickly point traffic at the backup server and not lose clients, traffic, etc.
