Better late than never.....in fact, you are better off buying them now than say 3 years ago when prices were ridiculously inflated....they seemed to have evened out over the last year or so....

your best bet is going as niche specific as possible for the best targeted traffic...nakedphotos.com is a great one...but, not very niche....you could use it as a hub to filter traffic....
ALWAYS ask for proof of traffic including all domain stats over the last year.
