Hey voodooman,
Great to hear from you. Congrats on being happy with the new career
Personally I have an immense amount of respect for police officers and the job they do. Police officers put their lives on the line everyday and are grossly underpaid.
Also police officers have to deal with certain negative elements in society on a daily basis and almost never see the good side of humanity. After all when does an officer gets called? Where there's trouble. Who calls police officers with good news and says "Hey come to our Bar-b-Que, to celebrate our son graduation". More often it's for domestic violence, robberies, traffic fatalities and such

Vick,
Glad to see your still around and thanks for the words, they are unfortunate
but true.
Our department is trying a PR phase to see how the public will interact with us on a more personal level, but its not really going so well. This is a town of only 12,000 people, and unfortunately there are 5 different gangs with alot of them from Denver, LA and Mexico, most of which are Hispanic so most people wont even talk to us if we just stop and try to strike up any kind conversation. They all think we are out to get them. We just completed a Drug Interdiction Emphasis in which all the interdiction officers, including DA Drug Task Force, Highway Patrol and Local City officers with multi jurisdiction run 24 hours a day for 7 days straight doing nothing but Interdiction. You would be surprised at the amount of drugs that pass through this town. Reason? Hwy 54 runs from the west coast to the east coast and most come from AZ. Matter of fact ALL of my drug arrests and seizures have come from AZ. No I don't profile either. So far I have been kicked in the nuts by a guy strung out on Heroin, been in a vehicle pursuit with a drunk, involved in a near shooting with a guy wanting to commit suicide by cop which just ended in a bump on his melon instead and many other not so physical things, but Im surprised in the amount of self control I maintain when dealing with these people. Not once had I lost my temper and the stuff ANTHONY taught me has come in quite handy. :-)
Again, good to hear from you Vick!!! Take Care and I'll be around more now.
