Ok, let me splain this the way I once heard it.
Muslims have Ramadan and have three months to atone.
Catholics have Lent and have six weeks to atone.
Jews have Yom Kipper and get it done in one day.
Now being a "non-practicing" Baptised person myself, I don't do none of this "atoning" stuff. I just wallow in sin.
