I actually think it is not appropriate to bring kids out on Valentines Day - has nothing to do with a family or anything else.
Other people going out to eat on VD do not want to see your kids, or anyone else's for that matter.
On the flip side It is VERY important to kids that they feel special so make it a point to get them stuff as well
