A long time ago a study was done at one of the most prestigious schools - Harvard, Yale, I don't remember but think it was at the Harvard Business School. They asked a certain number of students in a class how many of them write down their goals, both short term and long term. 3% of the students answered that they do indeed write their goals down on a physical piece of paper, keep it with them and close to them on a daily basis.
They checked back with all the students 20 or 30 years later. The 3% that had written their goals down combined made more money than the other 97% combined.
When I was told this, I began writing my own goals down, and posting it on a bulletin board right by my work desk. Needless to say, I have achieved my goals several times, and keep raising the bar on what I want to achieve...
Try it, it works - whether its making X amount per month, or losing 10 lbs by March 1st.
EDIT: Oh yeah, and Happy New Year to Oprano Family May 2005 be the best year yet.

I just finished writing on my bulletin board after reading this, "Start writing down my goals". :P Seriously though, I have been to a career coach and this was highly recommended. A little Tony Robbins motivation never hurts either.
