Rather than being a remake of the 1971 Gene Wilder film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Burton's movie will reportedly be a more faithful adaptation of Dahl's novel.

Very much so, since the original movie was 'willy wonka and the chocolate factory' ... whereas this one is 'charlie and the chocolate factory'
Subtle difference, but alot behind it, as the movie took alot of liberties ... the original book was actually VERY dark and twisted, as most Roald Dahl books are actually.
I love Tim Burton and Johnny Depp, and I can't see how this movie would be dissapointing at all ...
Then again, the other 'remake' Burton did was Planet of the Apes ... not exactly a pinical of movie making.
