Kerry will prove the terrorists right - that the US does not have the stomach to fight long extended battles. Just bleed our troops some, get the press involved and eventually the last remaining superpower will slink away with its tail between its legs....
Anyone remember before Afganistan, and Iraq how everyone was predicting the Arab street would rise up, there would be chaos and instability in whole region? That friendly gov'ts would have huge popular uprisings, etc... etc....
IT NEVER HAPPENED.
Backing down will just give our enemies more confidence and will re-enforce the notion that we no longer have the will power, patience, and guts to stick things out.
