Personally, I don't know enough about the full situation nor do I even really know Wiseman (have only met him once and it was briefly in passing) but this seems to be somewhat of a pattern.
If this had been a first time offense, I could see him giving another chance, but when it's a recurring thing, Hooper should do right by his friend/employee and get him some help.
I'd hate to see anyone lose their job through lack of control of their vices. Maybe a wake up call is needed (or maybe this was the wake up call) and some time in rehab is the answer.
