Being arrested for a t-shirt does seem a bit extreme. The security arguement is understandable, but it only goes so far.

For the record, my understanding is that at least SOME of the Kerry/Edwards campaign events are "ticket-required", although not to the degree that the Repubs are orchestrating their events.
