Okay, I'm out of the technical genius game...

Setting your DPI to 96 instead of 120 will stop image from being pixellated in IE. Apparently it makes the text too small. It did the trick for me using a monitor, but there is more to it with the laptop I guess...

Lower the DPI, change the fonts, small icons, big icons. You just can't please these women no matter how hard you try.
