The question I am having is the money left worth the new risks? In the past with fat profits, low gov't intervention it was a no brainer. However with falling profit margins, a comfortable lifestyle secured, new gov't intervention, it is coming to a point where I am going to rebalance the equation and see if the reward is still worth the risk.
2004 is a different world then 1997.

I think that is a very true and intelligent comment - I wish more people did the same thinking... I mean if you have a good stable mainstream business, then the income can be many times bigger than adult, but with much lower risks. No reason to risk it all, when the future is bright in other areas than adult.
The adult business will move more and more away from the entrepreneur stage into business formation to handle issues with law, banking and large-scale business - not saying that the "one man" operation will be gone, but in 2005+ it will surely take much more to be sucessful in this business, than in 1997 or 2004...
The industry will get more "heat" in the future, in areas such as law/politics, banking/processing, and other business situations. We are not well-liked by anyone, and we will be scapegoat for some of the problems in this world.
Nowdays I see the insane profits in mainstream - what the adult industry started has been taken over by mainstream - real business (not dotcom) will prosper in mainstream.
In adult the profits will only get smaller, some people will be cut out of the "food chain", and we risk waking up to nasty letters from the bank or police knocking at our door... now some will prosper in all of this, but it will be much harder than before, and not worth the risk for many.
