I am SO happy to finally announce the arrival of our newest son, Richard Alexander... we're calling him Alex. He weighed 7lbs, 8.4oz and was 19 3/4" long.
He was born at 3:26am on Monday, July 19th
at home, in our tub, into his daddy's waiting hands. He was born "in the caul" (for those of you who know what that means) and Kelsey, our 6yr old, was watching and helping as much as he could. (Mostly telling me how good I was doing, lol... what a sweetie.)
No drugs, no midwife, Mike and I did it all on our own unassisted. Boy, it was HARD, but it was worth every minute. He ended up coming out in just two unhurried pushes (he actually paused with his head halfway out, like Killroy, for about 45 seconds before the second push).
We don't have any decent non-blurry pictures yet but as soon as we do I'll post a couple. The boys are absolutely enamored with their little brother and Mike and I are doing our best to remember how to handle the first few days of having a newborn at home!
