You must fly out of the same airports as we do because that's about the only groups of folks that I've ever seen pushed around and searched. When we flew into Ft. Lauderdale last year for Internext, some poor granny was being made to stand with her arms up and she was literally crying that it hurt to keep her arms up. The security staff ignored her and kept on scanning her and going through her stuff. She was clean... she got on the plane... but she looked like she was going to pass out and the flight attendants all swarmed around her getting her ice water and a cool compress for her forhead - she looked THAT bad.
How is that doing a better job?
Oh... and when we got back into Las Vegas airport a few months ago, they were tearing apart some family's suitcase while the mom watched in horror as the security staff held up the family's dirty vacation underwear for the whole check-in line to see.... and yet some really, nasty stinky taped up box that was headed for Korea didn't get opened because security said that it stunk too much already closed up!
I guess that's how they should get the bomb on the plane... just slap some foreign writing on the box and surround the inner core with the bomb inside with some really smelly fishy stuff - fish eyes, squid, something really gagging... and don't worry, the Americans will be too busy debating racial/religious profiling and hassling grandmothers to have time to even bother searching anything further.
