I am very pro-intellectualism. I have more respect for a poor smart person than a rich idiot. Teaching falsehoods under the guise of a tenure is NOT what most "intelligent" people call intellectualism, so to speak.
I'll add that IME, 90% of what you actually learn throughout life cannot even be written and published, let alone taught from a book.
