It is one country, it is all Canadian land BUT some provinces are mostly French speaking and some are mostly English speaking! Everything East is mostly French, everything West, starting in Ontario is mostly English.
Most of Quebec's French Canadians (which I am) will even deny the fact that they are in Canada and won't call themselves French Canadian, they will call themselves Québecois and will claim they live in Quebec... But those are the "separatistes".
