That's what he's trying to research, but it ain't easy. The people to ask "How good will this job be out of the AF?" are usually the ones you offend by asking that question.
I told him just to do what HE WANTED to do. It's no fun spending 4 years learning and doing something you don't want to do just so you can get out and spend the rest of your life doing something you don't want to do.
