Its funny when I grew up the only choice you had for local and long distance was one single company. AT&T controlled everything top to bottom for telecom.

And remember those long distance rates. LOL. AT&T had that scam monopoly running for decades. Wonder how much we all got reamed for over all that time, when it could have been so much cheaper had the govt. stepped in and allowed competition.
