My Dad has always driven sports cars. He said the biggest problem is all the 16-19 year old kids in souped up ricers wanting to race him at stop lights. :P
He drives like a maniac and has never received a speeding ticket (I wish he would....), but I'm sure a 70 year old guy in a sports car looks a bit different to the police than a kid behind the wheel.
