I think its because of mental price perceptions. I just asked some of my friends who surf porn sites a little but dont work in the business.
$7.95 a months seems a lot cheaper than $9.95, and $19.95 seems wayyy expensive.
I push a big program that charges $24.95 a month and the site is L O A D E D with content, and it's good stuff, but my retention with them is only about 30%, so I dont make a lot of money.
I think if I charge a small fee then the members think they get a lof for that $7.95 a month and either want to stay, or forget they got a membership and it rebills.
I really dont know, it's just my idea, but I dont have the experience.
I think there are a lot of cheap surfers that dont want to pay $19/mo for a site, but would be willing to pay $7, and I want to grab all of those people.
I know for a lot of the big players that this small amount of money isn't even worth it to them to work on, but for me to make that kind of money, that would be like WOW..im rich!
