These firefighters are getting so much grief from residents - "why didn't they save MY house??" etc - and they're out there risking their lives and doing things like THIS...
I've seen that on the news time and time again - people just don't get it. I can understand the "why me?" instinct but geez... to start giving these firefighters - some of whom have left their families behind hundreds or thousands of miles away to fight this fire... or some of whom the news reported as working in their own neighborhoods having to see their own homes and neighbors' homes burn down... it's just plain stupid. <_<

We had to help my sis and her family evacuate the area where she lives yesterday - I thought it smelled smoky out here where I live, but there was hot ash falling everywhere and it just smelled like... well, "death & destruction" is about the only way to describe it. She wasn't too close to the fires, but the winds kicked up yesterday - 35-45 MPH gusts - and it's blowing that hot ash (which COULD catch on fire) to a whole new area, and the air-quality is just crap. Glad she called the family for help and got out of there - it was just awful.

Another shout out of good luck and best wishes to all our industry friends and family who live in the fire zones of So Cal... hope you're all safe and that your homes are too.
