You just gotta use the right technique (used this a couple of years ago on a laeky gas line in an old fiatr...got us home ...about 1000 miles)
First wrap the leak in aluminum foil, tightly...... Cover the entire area getting wet, plus a couple of inches either side.....
Wrap the entire thing tightly with the duct tape......
Voila....working gas line.....
Duct tape also makes a good oil cap..... I was on a trip to the ozarks, stopped for gas and checked the oil.... head on out... a few miles down the road I get an oil light.... Pull over and check... I had forgotten to put the fucking oil cap back on...Oil every fucking where in the engine compartment...
Duct tape !!!! I put one piece facing upwards (so the glue would not get in the oil... Then taped that down to the valve cover.... Got me through the weekend and back home..... Was a bitch to get off when I got the new oil cap.........
