How far from the water do you live Billy? Most cottonmouths wont nest far away from it... you might have a stray but its pretty unlikely.
I'd leave it alone really, it will keep the other pestilent critters away from your house. Our yard guys killed a couple kings last summer and I was furious... they are one sure way to keep rattlers away from your house.
