OK. Dumb non-techie question: I keep hearing/reading all these things about XP not working on different computers, you have to have the original CD, blah, blah, blah.
My kid's got XP Pro that he downloaded free from who knows where, it's been running fine for months, and I haven't seen any MS-type folks hiding out in the woods. What gives?
