Does hocking scanned playboy pics on a dialup BBS count as online adult biz? If so, that puts me back into the 80's. I can remember being dazzled by the way Miss February looked in a grey scale Macpaint format. Before that we were limited to printing the girlies out on the printer using nothing but ASCII characters and then getting way back from the printout at which time all of those characters would make out the shape of a nude babe!

Had a day job that put me on the web VERY early, vintage 1993 when Mosaic was the only game in town and pretty much the only way to get on the web was bring in your own T-1 or frame and run your own servers. My oldest domain has a creation date of 3/24/1993.

Dabbled with putting naked pics on the net for a couple of years using it mostly to feed back to subscriptions on the BBS. In the early days the porn action wasn't on the web, most people had shell accounts via companies like Netcom that they used for email and newsgroups.

FM popped my advertising cherry with FastCash sometime around late 96/early 97. Things took off from there.

First adult trade show would've been InternetExpo/Vegas in 97 or 98, I forget which. It was the one held in the Monte Carlo back when the show still had a heavy 900# influence. I remember that show was the one where the booths were split between two locations in the hotel and a lot of people failed to even notice that there were two halls.

Geez...I'm feeling really old now.
Hell Puppy be talking about NGS [nasty grey shit] and gifdot.
