People who suggest that they support our troops but not the war they're fighting are intellectually dishonest. Is there any other profession where you can support the people but not their goals?
"I support the carpenters, but I don't want them to build that house."
"I support the Broncos, but I want the Steelers to win."
"I support the firefighters, but I don't want them to put out that fire."
And so on...
So, if you oppose the war, especially at this point, please don't say you support out troops, because you don't, even if you can't admit it. Resisting the urge to spit on our troops isn't supporting them.
