When I was a teenager, I always figured by the year 2000 we'd be walking around with little debit sticks (about the size of the handle of a nail file) and not actually using any currency. With Mexico just changing to a clear bill and the US finally changing to colored, I guess that's a *long* way off. (Although the wide acceptance of the Euro is a good move towards that.)
Hell at this rate everyone else will be a non-cash society and the US will just be switching to clear.
