If you live outside the US, you have to pay to cash a check/wire and you get hit with a bad exchange rate, and if it's a check, sometimes you have to wait two weeks for it to clear.
Then, when you buy content, hosting, traffic or anything else in US$ you get hit again with an exchange rate difference.
Using paypal none of that happens.
