MATTHEWS: As opposed to not going to war? If you had a — if you were commander-in-chief right now and you had to choose, would you go to Iraq first or would you try fight al Qaeda?
SCHWARZKOPF: Oh, I don’t think there’s any question about the fact that if we have to go to war, the place to go is against Iraq first. Al-Qaida will come later. First of all, where would you find al-Qaida? Where would you pin them down?
MATTHEWS: Do you want to go — you said if we have to go to war. Do you believe we have to-this is a necessary, therefore good war?
SCHWARZKOPF: It’s looking that way. No war is a good war.
MATTHEWS: Is it a necessary war?
SCHWARZKOPF: I think it is, yes.
