yup, I go back to the BBS days too and you are right, it was very much like that.
I know that the reason I fell in love with the BBS world was that it let me mask things about me that as a teenager I was highly insercure about.
That is why the BBW community has developed at such a rate since the internet became such a force. It started with BBSs actually. It allows people to talk to each other without initally being judged. I love that.

Is it the type of users or a true niche?
Do you remember when you'd have a hot and heavy chat relationship with someone online the go to a GT and get completely blown away?
For the most part the fact that you got beyond the facade you were able to relate on another level, however there were always extremes. It would be nice to think that the world didn't care about physicality but they do. What’s enlightening is that there is an appreciation for all types which is why we have niche.
I think that when we chatted online we sometimes set ourselves up for disappointment by creating expectations that really weren’t about the other person. I know I did. Reality slaps you in the face when you realize they’re real and not just a nightmare. I hope you know I’m kidding… sorta.
